Summary
Belarus, whose official nation name is the Republic of Belarus, has her capital in Minsk and speaks both Belarusian and Russian. Her birthday falls on August 25th, and her national flower is flax. In her human form, she is known as Natalia Arlovskaya, standing at 160cm with an appearance age of 19. She is the younger sister of Ukraine and Russia, described by Russia as "a very pretty girl" and by Lithuania as "strong yet cute." She features platinum blonde hair and dark blue eyes, though earlier artwork depicted her with light brown hair. Belarus harbors a bizarre obsession with her brother, Russia, to the extent that she desires to marry him. She frequently clings to his side, acting in a manner that seems intended to intimidate others, as if warning them to stay away because he belongs to her. This affection is entirely unreciprocated, as Russia is terrified of her and has no intention of taking her as a wife. Conversely, Lithuania is deeply in love with Belarus, frequently asking her on dates and offering her compliments in front of others. Belarus, however, despises Lithuania, a hatred rooted in their childhood when she was separated from Russia for a period due to Lithuania's interference. Despite her attractive appearance, Belarus is intimidating, harsh, and somewhat unstable. The English dub of the anime suggests she may be bipolar, and she appears indifferent to the fact that she is losing both her wealth and her sanity. She has been shown lashing out violently against other characters, including an incident where she broke all of Lithuania's fingers during a date. Her favorite reading material is the former Soviet newspaper Pravda, and she enjoys rock music. She wields a knife as her weapon and has a fascination with the occult. Additionally, her first name is often rendered as "Natasha," a nickname or informal version of Natalia, both of which have been approved as canon by creator Hidekaz Himaruya.
