Zonge

Summary

Zonge is a Bishoku-ya who crosses paths with Toriko and Komatsu while they are en route to Gourmet Fortune. His primary role in the narrative serves as comic relief, characterized by a cowardly disposition and a distinct lack of combat prowess that sharply contrasts with Toriko’s relaxed and capable approach to his surroundings. Among hunters, Zonge ranks as one of the weakest in terms of skill, yet he compensates with extraordinary luck, allowing him to survive in some of the most perilous environments. He often frames his abilities using terminology reminiscent of RPGs. Despite his general ineptitude, Zonge possesses a unique physiological trait: he can shock a Surprise Apple to level 80 using his flatulence. Only a select few individuals, including Ichiryu at level 95, Jiro at level 92, and Midora in the high nineties, have managed to surpass that threshold. Additionally, he demonstrates an unusual tolerance for the Dodurian Bomb, capable of withstanding the foul odor that would be overwhelming to the rest of the world. His culinary preferences for a full course menu are notably modest, consisting of common ingredients readily available in low-ranking restaurants or stores. He appears unaware that a Gourmet Hunter’s full course is intended to represent their life’s work and personal ability. Instead, he takes pride in the completion of his menu, specifically highlighting the Garara Gator as the main dish. It is likely that he selected these particular items simply because they were the easiest for him to obtain.
