Summary
Tesla is a slender male Arrancar distinguished by blond hair and a peculiar blue mark on his right cheek. He wears an eyepatch over his right eye and dons a jacket resembling a lab coat, which sets him apart from other Arrancar. The remnants of his hollow mask manifest as a thin upper jaw that forms a circlet around his forehead. Despite being a Numero, his strength rivals that of a captain. He demonstrated this power by blocking Chad’s Diablo attack, even though Chad was in a weakened state, and by inflicting serious injuries on Ichigo while the latter’s bankai was compromised. Tesla appears to idolize Nnoitra, a connection reflected in his eyepatch, which mimics his master’s style. This devotion is further evidenced when he shields Nnoitra from Chad’s final assault, disregarding Nnoitra’s criticism. Nnoitra originally ordered Tesla to restrain Orihime while the Espada battled Ichigo, and later commanded him to finish off the weakened Ichigo. Tesla mercilessly beat Ichigo in his released state until Kenpachi Zaraki intervened, severely wounding Tesla. Afterward, Tesla was seen in his unreleased form, weeping for the fallen Nnoitra. His zanpakutō is named Verruga. He releases it by saying "crush." In its sealed state, it resembles a rapier with a chakram embedded in the blade just above the hilt. Tesla can solidify the ring to block attacks, as he did against Chad, before returning it to its hollow state. The guard features a scaled ribbing design. Upon release, Tesla transforms into a large, warthog-like creature. His mask expands to cover his entire face, producing a pair of tusks and causing his hair to grow into a mane.
