Summary
Kobato is a strange and naive girl with a kind heart who is dedicated to ensuring that no one suffers or gets hurt. Described as innocent and a beautiful singer, she remains somewhat of an enigma within the series, as her origins have never been explained. It is implied that she comes from another dimension and appears to have no memories of her past. Her primary goal is to heal the heartaches of others, a process that fills a mysterious bottle known as a "flask" with the suffering of those people's hearts. She hopes that once the flask is full, she will be able to travel to a specific place she deeply desires to visit. Her cheerful and enthusiastic outlook on life drives her sincere desire to aid those in need. However, she is often clumsy, clueless, and rash, frequently tripping over her own feet, which annoys Ioryogi. Kobato is bound by a restriction that prevents her from falling in love with anyone whose heart she heals. Additionally, it seems she is not allowed to remove her hat in public, although this rule has not been further addressed. She currently works as an assistant at the Yomogi Nursery, run by Sayaka, alongside Fujimoto, having taken the job shortly after beginning her task.
