Summary
Nojiko serves as the adoptive older sister to Nami, with the pair being unrelated by blood but raised together by Bellemere. She plays a pivotal role in the Arlong arc by revealing Nami’s history to the Straw Hats and assisting in Luffy’s rescue from the ocean, where he was trapped with feet encased in cement, alongside Genzo. Her right arm is adorned with tattoos, a deliberate choice to help Nami overcome her shame regarding the Arlong pirate logo tattooed on her back. After attempting to prevent Naval officer Captain Nezumi from seizing the money Nami had gathered to buy her village’s freedom, Nojiko was shot in the back by him but managed to survive. In the manga, she gifts her bracelet to Nami. She appears once more, expressing joy at seeing Nami looking happy in her wanted poster.
