Hakurei, Reimu

Hakurei, Reimu

Summary

Reimu Hakurei serves as the miko of the Hakurei Shrine, a secluded structure located in the far east where the boundaries of Gensoukyou and the human world intersect. She is widely considered to be the thirteenth in her lineage. Despite being naturally talented, she is generally regarded as lazy and avoids training, which keeps her offensive and magical capabilities at an average level. Nevertheless, she possesses a profound sense of duty; when the stability of Gensoukyou is at stake, she demonstrates the perseverance to overcome nearly any obstacle. Her primary strengths include the power to fly, sharp intuition, and an exceptional ability to get along with everyone, including former adversaries. In combat, she is defined by her use of homing amulets and yin-yang orbs. Her flight ability differs significantly from the "floating" ability common among most residents of Gensokyo. While the Japanese term for her power can imply floating, it also carries meanings related to being undefined, isolated, or having no basis. This unique nature allows her to perform feats that defy natural laws, such as walking across a magically concealed river without realizing it, as seen in Eastern and Little Nature Deity. Essentially, her ability to fly is tied to a state of being undefined or lacking basis, enabling her to passively achieve what is otherwise considered impossible.
