Prince Hata is a short, purple alien royal with a peculiar obsession for animals. His affection is rarely returned, as evidenced when one of his creatures bit off his antenna, though it eventually regrew. He harbors an eccentric hobby of gathering rare pets, yet his incompetence in handling them frequently leads to chaos throughout Edo. Because of his simple-mindedness and irresponsible attitude toward his animal collection, he is widely derided as Baka Ouji, or Stupid Prince. A recurring figure in the series, his entrances are typically accompanied by a Swiss-themed theme song. His physical appearance bears a strong resemblance to the pink Majin Buu from Dragon Ball.
