Summary
Sent to Headquarters by the Vatican administration following the return of General Cross and the other Exorcists with the Ark, Malcolm serves as a special inspector. This tall man uses his imposing presence and intimidating speech to assert dominance. He holds a critical view of General Cross, possessing hidden knowledge about both the Ark and the General that he carefully conceals. Viewing Allen’s potential connection to the 14th Noah as a dangerous liability, Malcolm seeks to have Allen tried for heresy. To that end, he has reassigned General Cross to a desk job and strictly forbidden him from communicating with Allen. His strategic goals involve using the Ark to assault the Earl and recruiting new Exorcists to strengthen the Order for the impending final battle. In a particularly drastic move, he has decided to forcibly trigger Lenalee’s Innocence. He manipulates her by reminding her that she joined the Black Order for Komui’s sake, a decision that risks disaster for both Lenalee’s life and the Order’s stability. Malcolm appears in Lenalee’s flashbacks regarding her early days in the Order, where he seems to have played a role in her initial imprisonment. His presence still causes her significant stress, leading her to seek comfort from Kanda in the same manner she did when they were children. Distinguished by his toothbrush mustache, Malcolm is also reputed to be an excellent cake baker.
