Summary
In the manga, the Doctor forces both Tōma and Mundock into a berserk state using nanomachines. While Tōma attempts to attack Eve, Kevin intervenes and is struck instead. The pair then target Train and River, prompting Eve to take River's place. Together, they devise a plan to destroy the nanomachines controlling Tōma and Mundock. In the anime, Tōma fights alongside the Alliance sweepers against the Apostle of the Stars. However, none of the sweepers reach the Apostles' castle, meaning the scene where the Doctor controls Tōma and Mundock never occurs.
