Summary
Sakuemon Yoshida serves as the Constable, or police chief, of the Southern Magistrate's office. He played a role during the Ansei Purge by carrying out orders issued by Ii Naosuke on behalf of the bakufu faction. In this capacity, he was responsible for the imprisonment of Hashimoto Sanai and Ibuya Manjirou.
