Kuroi, Sabato
Summary
Kuroi Sabato is a skilled pupil of Anotsu Saburō, the grandfather of Anotsu Kagehisa, and a master swordsman of the Ittō-ryū style. Beyond his exceptional martial abilities, he possesses several eccentric traits, most notably reciting poetry that references the band Black Sabbath whenever he engages in combat. His obsession with ageless beauty drives him to preserve the heads of his late wife, who was also Rin’s mother, using taxidermy; he mounts these preserved heads on his shoulders. In addition to his swordsmanship, Kuroi wields two shuriken named Karasu, meaning "The Crow." He makes his debut in Conquest part 1 and meets his demise at the hands of Manji in Conquest part 3. The character’s name is a direct nod to the band Black Sabbath, which creator Hiroaki Samura favors; "Kuroi" translates to "black" and "Sabato" romanizes to "Sabbath."
