Summary
Kouga Taichi, nicknamed Kouga the Kicker, is an eighteen-year-old martial artist who practices Tae Kwon Do. He possesses the Dou attribute and specializes in the Satsujin Ken style. In the manga, he is depicted as a young man of average height with short dark hair, wearing a headband, a white shirt under an open blue shirt, and shorts with pockets. He has a somewhat feminine appearance and wears long earrings in his left ear. Notably, he appears much shorter in the anime adaptation. Kouga was originally a member of the Techniques Trio alongside Takeda Ikki and Ukita Kouzou within the Ragnarok gang, but he was the sole member who refused to join the Shinpaku Alliance. Unlike his former comrades, Kouga harbors deep hatred toward Kenichi, whom he intends to defeat personally, and Miu, whom he derogatorily calls "Neko Shojo." He holds no genuine loyalty to Takeda or Ukita and showed no remorse for beating them for their betrayal. Despite being a capable fighter, he maintains a carefree attitude that frequently results in him being beaten by Kisara. He remains fiercely loyal to Ragnarok, eagerly punishing those who betray the organization. His methods can be ruthless and sadistic, as demonstrated when he attempted to snap Ukita’s arm with a falling-axe kick after Ukita threw him into garbage, a plan he pursued for amusement despite objections from his men. Kouga first appeared when he and his gang intercepted Kenichi and Miu. After Miu defeated his subordinates and kicked him, he developed a grudge against her. Kenichi subsequently defeated him by unbalancing him with a shallow punch to the chin. Later, Kouga confronted Takeda to deliver a farewell beating and was shocked to see Ukita betray Ragnarok by siding with Takeda. When Ukita was captured, Kouga attempted to break his arm, but Kenichi intervened with a punch to the back. The following day, he mocked Kisara’s defeat by Miu and traveled with her to sabotage Miu’s play, only to be defeated by Kenichi once again. When Kisara’s gang joined the Shinpaku Alliance, Kouga was forced to cooperate with the other members. However, he was secretly operating as a double agent for Loki. He attempted to sabotage Niijima by giving him soda laced with laxatives, but Niijima saw through the trick and forced Kouga to drink it himself. Kouga fled the scene urgently. With Ragnarok disbanded, his current status is unknown, though he is presumed to either remain a thug or have returned to school.
