While she lacks physical strength, she possesses superior mental acumen, although she is not immune to occasional lapses in judgment or bouts of clumsiness. Her relationship with Shichika is notably open and comfortable; although he harbors romantic feelings for her, his complete disinterest in her physical form allows her to behave shamelessly around him, including remaining naked in his presence without fear of being taken advantage of. Born to a fallen feudal lord, Togame is noted by Meisai for her bright attire, which is believed to serve as a reminder of her identity. Meisai also observes her extremely long, white hair, suggesting that such a distinctive trait does not exist without reason. Togame possesses a special eye and has unique verbal habits, such as exclaiming "gyafun" when she falls. She frequently says "cheerio!" while hitting Shichika, a phrase she later discovers is a mistake for "chesto."
