Masayoshi Komi serves as the father of Shouko and husband to Shousuke. Like his children, he rarely speaks, sharing their struggle with verbal expression and susceptibility to becoming flustered. Complementing his wife’s youthful demeanor, Masayoshi typically appears mature and stoic. Although he may seem stern, he is fundamentally kind, considerate, and supportive. Similar to his son, he compensates for his lack of words with decisive actions and demonstrates talent in various skills, such as baking, woodworking, motorcycle riding, and building sandcastles. Despite his serious expression, he is skilled at non-verbal communication and often engages in silent conversations with his children, which frequently amuses Shouko.
