Summary
Roxie made her debut in the episodes Rocking the Virbank Gym! (Part 1) and Rocking the Virbank Gym! (Part 2). As a formidable Gym Leader, she earned a reputation for defeating every challenger who faced her using only three Pokémon. Upon Ash’s arrival at her Gym, she expressed great enthusiasm upon discovering that he had a Pokémon from Kanto, mirroring her own Koffing, and readily accepted his battle request. During the match, Roxie demonstrated her competence as a Gym Leader by defeating five of Ash’s six Pokémon, despite fighting with a numerical disadvantage. She occasionally played riffs on her bass during the fight, prompting the audience to chant her name. After her defeat, she graciously congratulated Ash while the crowd cheered for his win. She then awarded him the Toxic Badge, which served as his eighth and final badge in the Unova region.
