Summary
Isako Toriumi serves as the homeroom teacher for Class 2-F and instructs the junior class in languages at Gekkoukan High School. A dedicated enthusiast of the legacy MMORPG Innocent Sin Online, she initiates a Social Link with the protagonist after he acquires a copy of the game from Junpei Iori. Adopting the avatar name Maya, a nod to Maya Amano, she guides the protagonist to use the handle Tatsuya, referencing Tatsuya Suou. Through their in-game correspondence, Toriumi vents about her professional frustrations, eventually developing romantic feelings for the player character. When the administration of Innocent Sin Online announces the permanent shutdown of their servers, she devises a plan to submit their chat logs to the developers in an attempt to save the game. Toriumi maintains a relaxed demeanor that frequently puts her at odds with Mr. Ekoda. She possesses a profound love for cake, even instructing a student to bake one as part of an assignment. Her colleagues at Gekkoukan are well aware of this preference, often bringing her sweets to ensure she remains in a good mood during meetings. While she enjoys almost every variety of cake, Mont Blanc is the one exception she dislikes. Outside of school hours, she plays Mahjong with Mrs. Terauchi. Toriumi teaches the terminology to Terauchi, who is a beginner and enthusiastic about learning, though Toriumi appears to exploit her inexperience and cheat to win every match, never suffering a loss. During the Social Link’s epilogue, the protagonist encounters Ms. Toriumi in the Facility Office. He drops his cell phone, which displays the wallpaper of Maya’s message in the sand to Tatsuya. Upon seeing the image, she is visibly shocked but, despite her age, accepts her feelings for the protagonist and attempts to ask him to dinner. However, she ultimately storms out of the office in anger. Her Arcana is the Hermit.
