Summary
Petra was a resident of the same town as Doctor Schumann. Although her son had left home five years prior, leaving her a widow, she continued the habit of preparing Goulash for two, a routine that frequently drew Dr. Schumann to her home. During Dr. Tenma’s visit, he identified that she was suffering from a subarachnoid hemorrhage and performed surgery to treat her. Later, her son attempted to apprehend Dr. Tenma in hopes of securing his own career advancement, but Schumann intervened, appealing to the young man’s conscience by reminding him that Tenma had saved his mother’s life.
