Summary
Haise Sasaki is the central protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul:re, serving as a First Class Ghoul Investigator, the mentor to the Quinx Squad, and a member of Team Mado. Operating under the supervision of Akira Mado and Kishou Arima, he is an Artificial One-Eyed Ghoul born on April 2nd. At twenty-three years old, he stands at 170 cm and weighs 58 kg. His biological classification is an Rinkaku type, and he wields the Yukimura 1/3 Quinque, which possesses Koukaku properties. Haise presents himself as a self-contained and good-natured individual. To the public and his colleagues, he appears trustworthy, loyal, and devoted. While he maintains a serious demeanor regarding his duties, he is also somewhat merciful, holding the belief that Investigators should not annihilate ghouls without necessity. Despite his role as the Quinx mentor, he shows measured respect and deep concern for his colleagues, displaying a protective streak toward them. He complies with the obligations assigned by his seniors without hesitation and has a habit of reading books. He is highly cooperative, preferring to work within his group rather than attempting to achieve the CCG’s goals single-handedly. Additionally, Haise has a habit of making puns, as seen in his conversation with Akira Mado at the Naan restaurant, and tends to scratch the back of his head when thinking hard or feeling uncomfortable. This gentle persona causes his subordinates to frequently go out of their way to disobey him, which renders him ineffective in controlling their actions and leads him to worry about their safety. Unlike Kaneki, who accepted his ghoul nature, Haise rejects it and appears disgusted by it. When his ghoul side attempted to convince him to accept his true self, he ignored it and looked to his mentors for courage instead.
