Summary
Gen, also known as Riley, first appears in the anime during DP110. He is a Trainer who specializes in Steel-type Pokemon and is currently residing on Iron Island to conduct research on this specific type. Following the erratic behavior exhibited by the island's Steel-types, which was caused by Team Galactic, Gen decides to investigate the disturbance with the assistance of his Lucario. During DP111, it is revealed that Riley is training to become a wave guardian alongside his Lucario, a role that allows him to wield aura with great proficiency. As demonstrated in the episode, he can generate protective shields using his aura. After Team Galactic plants explosives on the island following the failure of their plan, Riley and his Lucario contain the blast with their aura, diverting the explosion away from the island. Subsequently, he chooses to assist Professor Karashina in her research of the island to deepen his understanding of the location.
