Summary
Fuupa is a zombie distinguished by the saw strapped to his back and his glasses, first appearing when the trio crashes into a tunnel. He is later seen in the quarry loading stones onto a cart alongside Sabini. In a display of his undead nature, Mugen tosses Fuupa his severed arm, which the zombie calmly reattaches. When Shige produces the pedigree, Fuupa holds up a candle to reveal the hidden map concealed within. Following the agreement, Mugen asks Fuupa for food while Sabini binds his arm firmly in place; Fuupa replies that they only have wasabi. After Fuu complains about the labor, Fuupa informs her that they are nearing the treasure. She then notices that his arm is reattached with a line of scar tissue along the cut. Shortly after, Fuupa is seemingly killed in a rockslide, yet he reappears conversing with Sabini about how "that Yoritomo" will be deposed and Genji's rule will end once they locate what they have spent five years searching for. Jin and Fuu correctly point out that these events occurred five hundred years prior, but the two zombies pay no heed. Fuu encounters them again while attempting to escape the graveyard, initially mistaking them for living men until Fuupa's arm falls off into her hand. Presumably, Fuupa and Sabini become part of the zombie horde at the conclusion of the story and are destroyed in the meteor impact.
