Summary
Tajima, Yuuichirou is a first-year student in Class 9 and a talented baseball prodigy who primarily serves as a cleanup hitter. Although he plays third base, catcher, and first base, his small stature, standing at 164cm and weighing 53kg, prevents him from hitting home runs. He throws right-handed and bats left-handed, wearing uniform number 5. Despite his physical limitations on the field, Tajima possesses a naturally outgoing personality that effectively complements Mihashi’s shy disposition. The two share a strong bond, rooted in their mutual passion for baseball and their poor academic performance. Tajima’s decision to enroll at Nishiura, located just five minutes from his home, stems from a traumatic experience during middle school. He was left alone at home while his family visited his hospitalized great-grandfather, as no one informed him of the situation. Fearing he would be forgotten again, he chose the nearby school to ensure he is always aware if his grandparents or great-grandfather require medical attention. He lives with his parents, grandparents, two older brothers, two older sisters, their spouse, and several pets, including a dog, a cat, and a hamster.
