Summary
Professor Cozmo is lured away by either Team Aqua or Team Magma, depending on the game version, with Team Magma being the culprit in Pokémon Emerald. He believes they intend to help him excavate meteors at Meteor Falls, but the group actually steals the meteorite to power their machine at Mt. Chimney. Once the player defeats the team's grunts and leader, they retrieve the meteorite from the machine and return it to the Professor, receiving TM27 (Return) as a reward. In the anime episode Fight for the Meteorite, Professor Cozmo encounters Ash Ketchum on Mt. Chimney, where the events mirror the game's storyline. He is voiced by Tomohiro Nishimura in the Japanese dub. In the Pokémon Adventures manga, specifically the Chuang Yi translation of the fourth chapter, he is mistakenly referred to as Professor Starstone, though this error is corrected during a flashback in the fifth chapter.
