Summary
Hairu Ihei is a First Class Ghoul investigator and the partner of Koori Ui, serving as the deputy leader of S1 Squad. A veteran of the Owl Suppression Operation, she also served as a member of Squad 0 under the command of Kishou Arima. Although she appears as an ordinary young woman, her status as an experienced Investigator is evident. She greets the Quinx with eager politeness, expressing joy at finally meeting people of her own age. Despite holding a superior position, she prefers to be treated as a peer and feels somewhat uncomfortable about being younger than her colleagues. Her personality is notably tomboyish. Later, she joins Taishi Fura, Shiki Kijima, and Nimura Furuta in ambushing Matsumae and her followers. Hairu fights Matsumae with outstanding performance, successfully wounding her in the belly. However, Matsumae escapes when Kijima captures Yuuma, one of her accomplices. Hairu is disappointed that Kijima gained ownership of Yuuma despite her significant contributions to the battle. During the Tsukiyama Family Extermination Operation, Hairu leads the vanguard troops at the Lunatic Eclipse Building. She fights her way in alongside Kijima and other CCG investigators, where she confronts Matsumae, Mairo, and several other Tsukiyama family ghouls near the top floor. Upon witnessing Matsumae’s kagune-formed sword and shield, Hairu expresses interest in acquiring them as her quinque. Although the fight is evenly matched, she slips on a pool of blood, creating an opening for Matsumae to pierce her with her kagune. Despite being heavily wounded, Hairu demands her subordinates hand over her other quinque. She fires T-Human at Matsumae, beginning to break through her koukaku shield.
