Summary
Mieu is a blue Cheagle, a species revered as holy by the Order of Lorelei because of a pact established with Yulia, represented by the Sorcerer's Ring. This artifact allows Cheagles to converse with both humans and other creatures, and grants them the ability to harness various Fonons to acquire new abilities, such as flight by flapping their ears. Mieu joins Luke’s party after being exiled for one seasonal cycle by the elder Cheagle for accidentally setting fire to the forest where the Ligers reside, an act that led the Ligers to hunt Cheagles for food. He quickly becomes attached to Luke, addressing him as "Master" and naively accepting the nickname "Thing." Although Luke initially responds with abuse and ridicule over minor provocations, he later regrets his behavior. Mieu, however, interprets Luke’s actions as playful affection and thanks him for the name. He concludes most of his sentences with the phrase "desu no."
