Summary
Kyouya Takamachi is the son of Takamachi Shirou and the heir to the Mikami twin kodachi style swordsmanship. Raised with a vow to avenge his father, who was killed when Kyouya was young, he shares an incredibly close bond with Miyuki. Although they are cousins, Kyouya considers her his blood sister, and while he is the superior swordsman, the pair form a formidable team in combat. He is hired alongside Miyuki to protect their childhood friend, Fiasse, from kidnapping threats. This arrangement initially causes friction with Ellis McGaren, Fiasse’s official bodyguard and Kyouya’s childhood friend, who doubts Kyouya’s utility. However, the three eventually learn to cooperate effectively. In the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha universe, Kyouya is the biological brother of Miyuki and Nanoha, living with his parents, Shirou and Momoko. He and Miyuki play minor roles but remain skilled swordsmen, with Kyouya serving as Miyuki’s instructor. In a notable episode, he visits the Tsukimura mansion and spends the day with Shinobu, revealing their discreet romantic relationship. Kyouya remains oblivious to Nanoha’s magical abilities until the end of A’s, when she finally reveals the truth to him and the rest of the family.
