Daisuke, Yamamoto
Summary
Infant Daisuke Yamamoto was the sole survivor of a plane crash in the Amazon rainforest, where he grew up as a wild child known as "Amazon." His isolated life was shattered when Gorgos, the Ten Faced Demon, slaughtered a village seeking the powerful GiGi Armlet. Before dying, Elder Bago, the last of the Incas, entrusted the artifact to Daisuke and used Incan science and magic to transform him into the mighty Kamen Rider Amazon. Initially unable to speak coherent Japanese due to his lack of human contact, Daisuke gradually learned to communicate properly with the help of Masahiko, who assisted him in overcoming his culture shock. Following Bago's instructions, Daisuke fled to Tsubata, Ishikawa, where he met Professor Kōsaka, who understood the GiGi Armlet's nature. After Kōsaka was murdered by the Kumo Beastman, Daisuke saved Masahiko and his sister Ritsuko, eventually creating an antidote for Masako, who had been poisoned by the Beastman Vampire Koumori. During a fishing trip, he encountered a motocross event and saved Tōbei Tachibana from the Kamakiri Beastman. In gratitude, Tōbei helped Daisuke conquer his fear of motorcycles to defeat the Akajuusha. Seeking answers about why he was hunted by Geddon, the group discovered that Yamamura, a member of Kōsaka’s expedition, was on the run because he held the secret to Geddon’s origins. When the Beastman Omukade captured Yamamura and his daughter, Daisuke pursued them in the newly built Jungler, saving them and killing the Beastman. Tragically, Yamamura was fatally wounded by the Akajusha, revealing that Gorgos possessed the GaGa Armlet, the counterpart to the GiGi, before he died. During the Mogura Beastman incident, Daisuke was arrested for attacking a police officer while trying to expose the murderer Oshima. Although bailed by Tōbei, a confused Daisuke fled, harboring hatred for humans and intending to return to the Amazon. However, upon learning that Masahiko had been abducted by Mogura, he rescued his friend and severely beat the Beastman. Daisuke later found Mogura being punished by Gorgos and saved him, to the Beastman's shock. When Johoku University acquired Amazon relics, Daisuke and his friends investigated, discovering the mysterious Quipu, which Daisuke could decipher. The Beastman Yamaarashi arrived and stole the artifact, trapping Daisuke, but with Mogura's assistance, Daisuke learned the history of the GiGi and GaGa Armlets and killed Yamaarashi, finally understanding Geddon's goals. To stay informed about Geddon's activities, Daisuke received a radio from Masahiko. After saving a woman from the Kani Beastman, he learned that Mogura was forced to reveal Ritsuko as a potential weakness. Although Daisuke tried to protect her, Ritsuko suggested he return to the Amazon for everyone's safety. Undeterred, Amazon saved Ritsuko and her friends from Kani and received a vest from Ritsuko as a token of gratitude. Now fluent in Japanese, Daisuke sought Geddon's safe house to retrieve the GaGa Armlet from Gorgos. Unaware that the Garanda Empire was offering the Beastman Hebitonbo a place in their group in exchange for the GaGa Armlet, Daisuke was enlisted by Hebitonbo to fight Gorgos. The battle ended with the deaths of both Hebitonbo and Gorgos, leaving the GaGa Armlet in the hands of the ruthless Great Emperor Zero. Learning of Garanda's existence from the Hachi Beastman incident, Amazon fought the new evil with Mogura's aid until Mogura died helping him against the Kinoko Beastman. As Garanda launched the Helium Bomb Operation, the Sanshouo Beastman kidnapped the Okmura siblings to stall Amazon. Amazon defeated Sanshouo and tracked the Beastman's blood to Garanda's base, enduring traps before confronting Great Emperor Zero, who neutralized the GiGi Armlet and captured the Kamen Rider. Tōbei disguised himself as a Kurojuusha to locate Amazon, but Zero prepared to execute him. The GiGi and GaGa Armlets combined, granting Amazon immunity to Zero's power. Amazon pursued Zero, who fell into his own trap. After destroying the Helium Bomb's detonation system, Amazon confronted and killed the real Emperor Zero. Having completed his mission, he returned to the Amazon forest, his true home, though Tōbei believed he would return if evil threatened Japan again.
