Summary
Dr. Araide serves as the physician for Ran and Conan. He first appears in Manga Chapter 234 and Anime Episode 170, where Conan’s overreaction leads him to mistakenly view Araide as a romantic rival for Ran’s affection. Despite this initial misunderstanding, Dr. Araide is genuinely kind and helpful, often assisting others, including offering advice on Wataru Takagi’s love life. However, it is later revealed that the doctor is actually a disguise worn by Sharon Vineyard, also known as Vermouth, who uses this persona to track down Ai Haibara. Jodie Starling uncovers this secret, prompting Vermouth to cease the disguise. The real Dr. Araide eventually resumes his duties after learning the truth, expressing shock that Vermouth had mastered his mannerisms and personality so flawlessly.
