Summary
Standing at an imposing 202 cm and weighing 90 kg, Jun Uozumi dons jersey number 4 as the center and captain of his squad. He harbors a deep respect for Takenori Akagi, viewing him as a rival rather than an enemy, a bond that borders on friendship and was strengthened when Uozumi helped restore Akagi’s morale after a discouraging match against Sannoh. Although Ryonan has occasionally defeated Shohoku, Uozumi has never personally beaten Akagi. Following Ryonan’s elimination from the national competition after losing to Shohoku in the Kanagawa prefectural trials, Uozumi stepped down as captain, succeeded by Sendoh, to pursue his family’s ramen restaurant business by training as a chef. Sakuragi nicknamed him "Boss Monkey" due to his muscular build, which rivals Akagi’s, and his greater height.
