Summary
Okuru is an Ainu warrior who witnessed his village ravaged by an epidemic and subsequently burned to the ground by the Matsumae clan Han. Consumed by fury, he murdered the official responsible for ordering the destruction. Although he was captured and imprisoned, he managed to break out of custody prior to his scheduled execution. He wields a distinctive, modified crossbow known as a Chu-Ko-Nu, a weapon capable of firing bolts in rapid succession. His journey takes a violent turn when he mistakenly identifies Mugen as a member of the Matsumae Han, leading him to launch an attack on him. In a twist of irony, the Matsumae Han later confuse Mugen for Okuru.
