Summary
Azai Nagamasa is the ambitious and arrogant Daimyo of Oumi who makes his debut in episode 3. During this initial appearance, he offers Nobuna an alliance on the condition that she becomes his wife. Although she almost agrees to the proposal, she ultimately rejects it. By episode 7, Nagamasa tries again to secure the partnership, this time without any romantic strings attached. He is desperate to finalize the deal because he is afraid to return home due to the potential embarrassment of his previous failure. As part of the arrangement, he is set to marry Nobuna’s sister, Oichi. Unbeknownst to him, the bride is actually Nobusumi disguised as a woman.
