Summary
Mamori Anezaki is Sena Kobayakawa’s overprotective childhood friend who joined the American Football club specifically to shield him from bullying, particularly by the aggressive quarterback Hiruma. Their bond began when their mothers met in a cooking class, leading Mamori to protect Sena since primary school, a dynamic that has left him with little need to stand up for himself. Of mixed heritage with a half-Japanese, half-American mother, Mamori is 25% American and 75% Japanese. Although her initial motive was purely protective, she evolved into a highly competent manager who memorized all American football rules in a single night. She excels at creating detailed strategies by hand, compensating for her lack of computer skills with a super-analog approach, and can answer Hiruma’s questions with precise accuracy. Beyond her club duties, Mamori is a diligent student who helped Sena prepare for his high school entrance exams, though she struggles significantly with art. She also serves on the school’s disciplinary committee. While she frequently clashes with Hiruma, she eventually recognizes a softer side to the Devil Bats' leader. Her personality takes a dramatic turn when the subject of creampuffs arises, earning her the title of creampuff-maniac. Her favorite foods include Italian cuisine and creampuffs. She graduated from Sakura Girls' Middle School and is currently a second-year student.
