Summary
Murata Tetsuya was a swordsmith residing in Edo and the son of the celebrated Murata Jintetsu, with his sister being Murata Tetsuko. He is credited with creating the Benizakura bio-mechanical sword, a development based on his father’s original design as confirmed by Tetsuko in Episode 59. Suffering from significant hearing impairment, Tetsuya frequently spoke with a volume that sounded like shouting. Although he assisted Takasugi Shinsuke by providing him with a sword he crafted, Tetsuya held no interest in Takasugi’s schemes or ambitions.
