Summary

Kaiki Deishuu is a conman who specializes in creating fake apparitions. He possesses a gloomy demeanor and holds the cynical belief that nothing in the world is inherently true. For him, money is the only absolute, as it provides access to anything that is not irreplaceable, including concepts like love and happiness. An adept schemer with an opaque mind to outsiders, Kaiki is fluent in the arts of lying and subterfuge, often blurring the reasoning behind his statements. He explains his name as deriving from "Kai," resembling a mound of clam shells, and "Ki," akin to a dead tree. Priding himself on having no pride, Kaiki openly admits to being a conman and an impostor, a trait he leverages to his advantage through masterful wordplay. He navigates interactions with ease, willing to give and take in order to maximize profit or cut his losses as necessary. Although he is a specialist in fake phenomena and knowledgeable about paranormal creatures, he does not personally believe in their existence. Instead, he manipulates believers, using his knowledge to exploit them for financial gain.
