Arrow, Rygart

Summary

Rygart serves as the main protagonist of the series. Born as an un-sorcerer, he lacks the ability to use magic, a trait that sets him apart from most of the population. Prior to his journey to find Hodr, he lived a rustic life working on a farm alongside his brother, who was also an un-sorcerer. To ensure his sons grew strong and did not feel like outcasts, Rygart’s father discarded all Quartz-operated tools in favor of traditional, non-magical implements. After securing loans, Rygart was able to enroll in Assam military school. There, he formed a close bond with Zess, Hodr, and Sigyn. The quartet gained a notorious reputation as the "four problem children of Assam's Military School," while Rygart himself earned the moniker "King of Make-up tests." Although he initially despised violence, his perspective shifted when he became the pilot of the Delphine, an ancient Golem built exclusively for un-sorcerers to serve as a Heavy Knight for Krisna. Rygart originally joined the army and the war to protect his brother and friends, but he eventually confessed that his true motivation was to protect Sigyn, the woman he deeply loved. As the story progresses, Rygart comes to understand the brutal law of war: "Kill or be killed." Following the traumatic loss of a dear friend and companion in battle, his fighting style evolves to become significantly more decisive and ruthless.
