Summary
Julius, the older brother of the King of Midland, stood as the presumptive heir to the throne. He possessed a brash and arrogant demeanor, firmly convinced that commoners were incapable of ascending to nobility. This rigid worldview drove him to attempt the murder of Griffith. Julius was driven entirely by a lust for power, a fact evident in his plans to train his son in swordsmanship with the goal of marrying him to the princess. His ambition was further marred by his infidelity; he committed adultery with the queen, making him an unfaithful brother to the reigning monarch.
