Summary
Joe Gibson is an elite American pitcher who competes in the Major League Baseball. He carries the heavy burden of his past incident involving Gorou’s father, Honda Shigeharu. This guilt drives him to maintain his status as one of the top pitchers in the MLB, hoping that his continued excellence will make Honda appear even greater by comparison. Gibson has persisted in his career past the age of 40, accumulating over 300 wins. He served as the ace pitcher for Team USA during the Baseball World Cup. At that time, he had been diagnosed with angina pectoris, and doctors warned that continuing to pitch could be fatal. Despite this risk, Gibson may believe that dying on the mound while giving his best effort is the only way to truly make amends to Gorou, Momoko, and Honda.
