Summary

North Kaio serves as the ruler of the galactic quadrant that encompasses Earth and Namek. In the English adaptation of the manga, he is referred to as Kaiô-sama or Lord of the Worlds. He considers himself quite funny and insists on teaching his subordinates only if they laugh at his terrible jokes, which consist of awful puns in the original Japanese version. His instruction is reserved exclusively for those capable of reaching the end of Snakeway. Among his students is Goku, who successfully completed the trial and learned powerful techniques crucial to many of his fights, such as the Genki Dama, known as the Spirit Bomb in English dubs, and the Kaio Ken.
