Sumimura, Masamori
Summary
Masamori Sumimura is the eldest son of the Sumimura family, yet despite being the oldest of the three brothers, he is not the designated heir. Now twenty-one years old, he possesses a mature appearance that makes him look significantly older. As a leader within a section of the Urakai organization, he visits home infrequently, but when he does, he stays for extended periods. He is a highly skilled Kekkaishi who employs complex techniques that are difficult to master. His relationship with his younger brother Yoshimori is complicated by mutual, unacknowledged jealousy; Yoshimori resents Masamori’s technical prowess and the attention Tokine gives him, while Masamori frequently gazes at the mark of the "legitimate successor" on his right palm, harboring his own unconscious envy toward Yoshimori. This dynamic leaves Yoshimori constantly puzzled as to why his older brother was not chosen as the heir.
