Summary
Kyogai, also known as the Drum Demon, served as Lower Moon Six among the Twelve Demon Moons. His transformation into a demon led to a harsh critique from an unknown figure who deemed his writing style monotonous and criticized his lack of teaching skills and reclusive habits. The encounter ended fatally for the critic when Kyogai, enraged by the visitor stepping on his papers, killed him. As a member of the Twelve Demon Moons, Kyogai gradually lost the ability to consume humans. Kibutsuji Muzan intervened to strip him of his rank, declaring that the Drum Demon had reached his limit. This demotion triggered an obsessive drive in Kyogai to regain his position within the ranks. Earlier, Kyogai had abducted Kiyoshi, the older brother of Teruko and Shoichi, because he possessed rare blood, taking him to the Drum House. Before he could devour his captive, he was ambushed by two rival demons seeking the same blood. The attack injured him severely, causing the drum attached to his back to fall off.
