Nishida, Yuusei
Summary
Yuusei Nishida is a second-year student at Municipal Mizusawa High School, Class 9, and a member of the Karuta Club. He is a tubby boy with a birthday on November 29th, standing 176 cm tall and weighing 80 kg. His blood type is B. He enjoys meat buns and Yakisoba bread, with a hobby of researching meat buns from various convenience stores. He is also a member of the Suihoku Society at the A Class level. Often reluctantly called 'Porky' by Chihaya, Yuusei was once a top karuta player who competed against Chihaya, Arata, and Taichi in an elementary school tournament. After suffering a defeat against Arata, he quit karuta and took up tennis as a refuge. However, Chihaya eventually reminds him of how he used to play for fun, leading him to join the karuta club. His favorite song is Poem #71, which reads: "When the evening comes, / From the rice leaves at my gate, / Gentle knocks are heard, / And, into my round rush-hut, / Enters autumn's roaming breeze."
