Summary
Tomoo is a ten-year-old orphan residing at a welfare facility alongside Lucy and other children without parents. He joins two other bullies in tormenting Lucy daily, primarily targeting her physical deformity, specifically her horns, but also expressing confusion over her apparent lack of emotional expression. He derives sadistic pleasure from Lucy’s misery, inflicting suffering through malicious pranks like spilling milk on her backpack, mocking her with the nickname "horns," and subjecting her to various humiliations and physical assaults. His cruelty escalates when he discovers Lucy caring for a puppy; to satisfy his morbid curiosity and watch her cry, he forces her to witness him repeatedly smashing a flower vase over the dog’s head.
