Yorigami, Shion
Summary
Shion Yorigami serves as the deity of poverty and is the older sister of Jo'on. Her sibling frequently berates her with harsh insults, labeling Shion as a gloomy, miserable, and smelly individual who is utterly incapable of independence. The conflict between the sisters often culminates in Jo'on asserting that there is nothing positive about Shion. Despite this hostile environment, Shion formed a bond with Tenshi, a celestial being blessed with inextinguishable good luck that remains unaffected by Shion’s misfortune. Tenshi became Shion’s friend after realizing that the poverty goddess’s negative influence would not impact her. Because Tenshi is unlike everyone else in not minding Shion’s presence, the goddess believes that this friendship offers her a chance at true happiness. Following the Perfect Possession incident, which occurred nearly a year prior to the current timeline, the two continue to spend time together in Gensokyo, even organizing several banquets at the Hakurei Shrine. Shion places immense value on her friendship with Tenshi, becoming visibly emotional and on the verge of tears when she mistakenly believes Tenshi has become angry with her due to a headache.
