Ino Yamanaka, born on September 23 under the Libra sign, is a female ninja of the Yamanaka clan from Konohagakure. In Part I, she was 12 years old, standing 149.3 cm tall and weighing 38.2 kg, with a B blood type. By Part II, at age 16, she grew to 162.2 cm and 46 kg. She serves as a Genin in the first series and advances to Chūnin in the second, bearing Registration ID 012604. She graduated from the Academy at 12 and passed the Chūnin Promotion Exams at 14, having completed 40 missions across various ranks. Her favorite phrase is "The many words of flowers," and she enjoys cherry tomatoes, custard pudding, and shopping, while disliking sashimi and initially Sakura Haruno. She debuted in Chapter #34 of the manga and Episode #1 of the anime. Ino is the childhood friend of Sakura Haruno, whom she befriended after Sakura was bullied for her large forehead. Acting as a confident mentor, Ino helped Sakura develop her own identity. However, their friendship ended when they discovered they both liked the same boy, Sasuke, sparking a bitter rivalry. Ino adopted a more superficial persona, valuing her appearance and speaking bluntly, even telling Choji to focus on his looks. Despite this shallow exterior, she cares deeply for her teammates and remained loyal to Sakura, aiding her in the Forest of Death. This competitive dynamic persisted until the Chunin Exam. A member of the Yamanaka clan, Ino works at her family’s flower shop, where she excels in ikebana. She is perceptive, noticing subtle details like Asuma’s feelings for Kurenai and identifying professions by examining hands. Her clan heritage grants her expertise in mind-altering techniques, notably the Mind Body Switch Technique, which allows her to transfer her consciousness into another’s body. During the final filler arc, realizing she was less useful than Sakura, she became Tsunade’s second apprentice to improve her medical skills. She also developed an inner persona known as "Inner Ino." Ino, along with Team 10 and Kakashi, played a role in dispersing two Akatsuki members.
