Chou
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Reigning as the King of Kou for half a century, Chou has strived earnestly to better his nation. Despite these efforts, he remains convinced that Kou can never achieve the prosperity enjoyed by its neighbors, Sou and En, whose rulers have governed for six hundred and five hundred years, respectively. The death of Joukaku, the ruler of Kei, after only six years on the throne intensifies his anxiety. He fears that Youko’s ascension to the Kei throne will mirror the success of the King of En, a taika, thereby allowing Kei to flourish while Kou continues to lag behind. Consequently, the King of Kou covertly backs Joyei, Joukaku’s younger sister who usurped the throne without Keiki’s approval, and launches numerous schemes to capture and eliminate Youko.
