Summary
Ioryogi serves as Kobato’s companion and typically manifests as a stuffed toy dog. Despite this innocent appearance, he possesses a foul mouth and a volatile temper, often being the first to harshly criticize or physically strike Kobato for her naivety and foolishness. He frequently refers to her by the derogatory nickname "Dobato," which translates to Stupid Dove, although he is willing to acknowledge her efforts when he believes she has earned it. The origin of Ioryogi remains a mystery, but he is capable of unleashing a powerful blast when provoked, an ability demonstrated when he attacked a perverted old man in the first chapter of Kobato. He also tends to direct this power at Kobato whenever she makes mistakes. Originally, Ioryogi functioned as Tsubaki Nekoi’s mascot in Clamp’s self-caricatures.
