Summary
Komatsu is a human male chef born on March 31st, 475 GA. Standing at 155 cm and weighing 51 kg, he has blood type A. At the beginning of the series, he is 25 years old, the same age as his partner Toriko, but turns 29 after the timeskip. He is currently alive and works as a chef for Hotel Gourmet, which is affiliated with the prestigious IGO. He is also known as Toriko’s partner and is associated with the Four Heavenly Kings. Although he is timid, Komatsu is deeply fascinated by the ingredients he encounters while traveling with Toriko. He strives to overcome his fear to assist in their adventures. Despite his nature, he is a highly skilled and competent chef, capable of performing delicate tasks such as removing a puffer-whale’s poison sack. He can create delicious dishes from almost any ingredient and possesses extensive knowledge of food pairings. Additionally, he is very observant, easily spotting edible organisms in his surroundings. His abilities have impressed all three of the Four Heavenly Kings. Toriko recognizes his skills as exceeding five-star class standards. Coco is surprised by what appears to be world-class talent, while Sani admires the "harmony" Komatsu achieves in his cooking. Because he is otherwise ordinary, he writes a will whenever he joins Toriko on hunts. Komatsu is the only chef to have successfully recreated the Century Soup, using a baby Wall Penguin pet that contains the key ingredient in its saliva.
