Summary
As the head of the Takishima group, Kaname Takishima is a formidable figure in the business world, yet he remains a reclusive presence even within his own family. He initially appears in chapter 25 during a phone call to Kei's father, where he subtly manipulates Hikari by suggesting that her existence is a burden to Kei. The two finally meet in person in Chapter 59, when President Takishima attempts to persuade Hikari to transfer schools. He is openly hostile toward her, stating that her very presence sickens him, and actively works to break up her relationship with Kei through various schemes, including sending Aoi to interfere, organizing marriage meetings for Hikari in London, and arranging an engagement between Kei and a woman named Alisa. It is later revealed that his animosity stems from a belief that he and Hikari share traits that cause suffering to those they love, leading him to fear that Kei will suffer the same fate he endured if he stays with her.
