Summary
Fuurinji Miu is a seventeen-year-old Dou practitioner of the Katsujin Ken philosophy who specializes in Furinji Style Martial Arts. She is the granddaughter of Ryozanpaku’s leader, Hayato Furinji, and the daughter of Saiga Furinji, a figure associated with Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists. Although the exact circumstances of her adoption are unknown, Miu has lived with her grandfather since she was at least six years old. During these formative years, she trained under his guidance and accompanied him on missions aimed at restoring peace. Prior to transferring to Kouryou Academy, where she is currently a second-year student alongside Kenichi and several other key figures, Miu attended a renowned school where she struggled to fit in due to the jealousy of her peers regarding her appearance. To cope, she adopted a plain look by braiding her hair and wearing glasses, a disguise she maintained until her second year before eventually discarding it. Despite her athletic build, kindness, and humility, Miu suffers from severe social ineptitude, stemming from an upbringing that offered no time for friendships and a home life where she effectively serves as a live-in maid. Consequently, she entered her new school with no friends and minimal social interaction. However, through her gentle nature and assistance from Kenichi, she has gradually built a circle of acquaintances throughout the series. Miu also possesses a deep affection for kittens, becoming openly hostile toward anyone who harms them, and once even tortured Kenichi after he ruined her chance to adopt one. Miu has demonstrated herself to be an exceptionally skilled fighter, honing her abilities through rigorous training and dangerous experiences since childhood. Her reflexes are so sharp that she instinctively counters anyone who sneaks up on her. While her specific fighting style remains unnamed, she relies heavily on acrobatics and kicks. Her prowess is such that Kenichi has never been able to land a hit on her during sparring, a feat likely aided by his vow to never strike women, let alone Miu.
