Summary

Tomoyo Daidouji, known as Madison Taylor in the English dub, is the devoted best friend of the series heroine, Sakura Kinomoto. Upon discovering that Sakura has become the Cardcaptor, Tomoyo assumes the role of her primary assistant, crafting battle costumes and documenting all of Sakura’s magical and mundane activities. Although she presents these efforts as support for Sakura, the videotaping appears to serve Tomoyo’s own personal enjoyment. She rigorously protects Sakura’s secret identity and frequently steps in to cover for her when necessary. Mature beyond her years, Tomoyo is defined by her selflessness toward Sakura. She is kind, caring, highly intelligent, and meticulous, possessing a beautiful and melodic singing voice that often features solo parts in choir recitals. Her refined nature is further emphasized by her consistent use of formal verb conjugations and expressions, setting her apart from the rest of the cast. Despite her gentle demeanor, Tomoyo is capable of considerable cunning and resourcefulness, a trait that was most prominently displayed during the final movie.
