Summary
In Muv-Luv Extra, Ayamine is depicted as a quiet delinquent who prefers solitude, using blunt remarks to tease others and deflect tension. A self-centered free spirit, she frequently skips class to hang out on the school rooftop and has a strong obsession with yakisoba. She harbors a particular dislike for Chizuru, often enjoying setting the girl off. In Muv-Luv Unlimited and Alternative, she serves in squad 207 alongside Shirogane Takeru and the others. Her proficiency in close-range combat makes her ideally suited for the Storm Vanguard position. Ayamine and Chizuru clash due to their opposing personalities; Chizuru is severe and stubborn, while Ayamine deflects serious comments with jokes and handles situations independently. This friction causes significant conflict within the team. Ayamine’s animosity toward Chizuru stems from her father, a former famous army general. He was forced into a lose-lose situation where he abandoned his comrades to protect fleeing citizens, leading to accusations of fleeing under enemy fire and his dishonorable discharge. Ayamine believes serving under an incompetent leader leads only to fleeing or annihilation, which fuels her distrust of Chizuru’s leadership. However, after enduring many significant events in Alternative, Ayamine begins to open up to her teammates, trusting them with her life. This growth fosters a better friendship with Chizuru and the rest of the group.
